Our Environment

"Childhood is filled with natural wonder and curiosity. The learning environment must reflect a classroom and outdoor space that inspires a sense of wanting to investigate, to find out and to explore."

The activity room

In the activity room, I have lots of different educational toys, books, material for art and craft, games etc, at the childrens' reach. I have a corner with some pillows which is close to books and puppets, and we use this corner for reading and story time. I have posters, drawings, art crafts done by children around the walls. I have child-sized tables and chairs that we use for meals, art, craft, puzzles, etc. I keep my high chairs against the wall not far from the tables and the chairs.

There is a computer which I use for music time and for children to play educational games. The painting area is not far from te washroom. I have a changing table with multiple shelves labelled with childrens' names which I use to keep diappers, wipes, creams and medicine for each individual child.

The floor is covered with foam matt so that it is warm and comfortable even on chilly winter days.

The quiet room

In the quiet room I have two cribs, two closed playpens and four matresses. In the closet, I hang the mats and on the top shelf, I store the blankets and matress covers. I have named drawers which I use for the clean change of clothes of the children. I keep lots of colourful toys for babies. The room is decorated with pictures made by my previous children. The floor is covered with carpet so that it is comfortable for crawling babies.

Backyard

In the backyard, there is a club house with two swings: one for babies and the other for older children, a slide and stairs to climb. I have tricycles, cars, and lots of other play equipment for developing gross motor skills. I have a sandbox and during summer, I use two kid's swimming pools. My backyard is bordered by fences for the safety of the children.
